Here is my big guy getting ready for his first day of First Grade!!
As you can see, Mikey is also getting ready. He thinks he is going to school today. I'm trying to figure out a way to keep him busy because he keeps asking, "when am I going to school?" I tried to tell him that he is going tomorrow, but he doesn't want to take that for an answer.
Waiting patiently for the bus! Mikey was so excited because he thought he
was going to school too. I hope he is that excited
tomorrow!
So handosome...he even wore a "nice" shirt for me today. He made a deal with me that I could pick his clothes out 3 days a weeks and he will pick out his clothes for the other 2 days. I think I'll let him pick on gym days!
Notice the size of the backpack..I hope the poor kid doesn't fall off the bus when he is getting out! All of his 1st grade supplies plus lunch and a water bottle. That think probably weighed 10 pounds...
FINALLY...the bus arrived about 10 minutes later than expected. And Ms. Jennie was not the driver. i hope this guy is just as nice...he didn't even say hi to Matt (or me). He just grumbled, "is that it?" I guess he thought Mikey was going too!

I won't lie...I had a couple of tears after he left.

I AM THE LUCKIEST GRANDMA ALIVE!!!! MY BOYS ARE THE HANDSOMEST GUYS ... ALL GROWN UP!! I AM WITH MIKIE ... I COULD JUST CRY!!! He looks so much like Matt in that picture where he finally smiles! I need a copy of that one and of the "sad" one too!!! Ah, the rewards of parenthood are many.... here are just 2 reasons (Matt & Mike) to promote parenthood!!!
